The Purpose For Glory

John 17:22-I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one...

We all want to see and know that our children are safe whether at school, a party, a recreational center, or just a neighborhood park. This unites us on common ground. In a society that would pull us further apart in fear of one another, we have to find reasons to be united as one. In the above referenced scripture, Christ says that He gave us the glory that was given to him so that we could be one with one another, like he and the Father were one. The glory typically represents everything that is beautiful about God; and since everything is beautiful about Him, He is full of glory. Let's look at this carefully. If he gave us His beauty so we could be one with one another, I  truly believe it is His intent for us to be able to see the beauty in one another over the flaws. As a matter of fact, I believe beauty outweighs those flaws; and we all have flaws.

What I find amazing is that He did not say the glory was for great revivals, great Sunday morning services, miracles, signs, or wonders. Those are all great byproducts of the glory, but the intent of the release of the Glory of God was so that we could truly be one! When oneness is on the back burner so are social, economic, and spiritual reform. When oneness is not priority neither are advancements. Oneness is what brings healing to our halls, peace to our homes, and life to our fellowships. Unless we all are affected by the things that affect us all we remain unmoved, and things remain unchanged. Christ implies through this simple and profound statement, the beauty and strength we see in on another should unite us. Therefore, we pray; we pray for eyes to see, ears to hear, hearts to feel, minds that relate, arms that cover and protect, and agendas that promote love and oneness. Blessings!

(There is so much more to this revelation about Oneness and the Glory...more later.:) )
